Even after MAPI & registry key added it is still temperamental and I highly suspect it is due to my autodiscover record being srv. Outlook checks for srv record last in the list, here is a typical Outlook setup process I have to do when I onboard a new user (next week when my cutover to O365 happens I will be free of this crap):
