At the beginning I scanned the film negatives of the hard-copy photos on mobile phone. They were mounted on film holder which was placed on top of a Tablet as light-box. The quality of the scanned digital negative photos was quite good. The digital negative photos have to be further edited on GIMP including converting them to digital positive photos.
