During the tutorial, Mario is given the option to buy one of three badges for free- either the Lava Boost Badge, the Fall Damage Badge, or the Defense Badge. After purchasing one of these badges for free, the price of the other two badges will change to 100 coins to prevent Mario from getting all three for free. Upon finishing the tutorial, these badges can be purchased for their standard prices (as listed below).
