Hot, record-setting temperatures will continue across the Northwest, California, western Great Basin, and Arizona, with very dry air and poor overnight recovery continuing across much of the West as well. Breezy northwesterly sustained winds of 12-25 mph and gusts 25-35 mph will develop across the central and eastern Great Basin into northern Arizona and the West Slope creating elevated to critical conditions. Isolated mainly dry thunderstorms are forecast across the Mogollon Rim and southeast Arizona into central New Mexico. Isolated thunderstorms are expected east of the Divide in Montana and Wyoming, becoming scattered thunderstorms are forecast across much of the Plains into the Upper/Mid-Mississippi Valley, with heavy rain possible across central Oklahoma and Kansas. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are also forecast for the Southeast into Florida. Rain and wind are forecast to increase along the Texas coast overnight due to Tropical Storm Beryl. Breezy, cool, and moist conditions will continue across Alaska, although rainfall overall will be lighter than the past few days.
