Apparently, in a desire to design a ship that was untraditional and didn't conform to the usual standards, a library and a number of other features were reduced or omitted. It appears now that the new ships will be more traditional and many of those missing features may be restored. Whether or not those features will include a traditional library (the fact that they made some minimal changes to EPIC after it debuted gives some reason to hope it will), may reflect the changes that have been wrought by the advent of e-readers and other electronic devices.
