That's okay, I just wanted to clarify for the OP that you actually need to install Forge for almost all mods. The mods that don't use Forge cannot be installed by a drag-and-drop-into-folder style, you need to actually edit files. Even for a year and a half ago the way modding works has changed, so the steps you took back then cannot be applied to the steps you have to take today. Either way, I still am certain that you installed Forge either without knowing, or you know you installed it and are just trying to back up a false claim (no offense intended).
