Given their differing lithologies and in line with the criteria established in the international stratigraphic standard (Harland, 1977), we suggest that the volcanic and sedimentary strata attributed to the Cura Malln Formation should be acknowledged as separate units. To simplify, we will refer to them as the CMV (Cura Malln Volcanic) and CMS (Cura Malln Sedimentary) formations, as previously noted.
