It's usually best to compress channels individually, and if I were in your situation, I would use a 4 channels of compression for the vocals and guitars. If I had a 2 channels of compression, I would use it only on vocals (probably). Maybe guitar and vocal groups, I don't know, it depends on if the guitars need it.
