The game ends with one of the survivors sacrificing himself/herself, as the last level is a ported version of "The Sacrifice". However, the canonicity of the final level is debatable since there is a ported version of The Passing as well, with Bill's death. Judging by the disconnected order of the campaigns, its quite possible that each campaign of the game takes place on a separate timeline rather than being a continuation.
