This will allow you to teleport to Ginger Island at no cost, so it is more than worth constructing. To build the Island Obelisk, you'll first need to complete the "Goblin Problem" quest for the Wizard. Upon completing the quest, speak with him to purchase a variety of obelisks, all of which can teleport you to various places in the game but require certain materials to purchase.
