In 2023, Counter Strike: Global Offensive was ported to Source 2, a new game engine developed by Valve. However, this was not a simple update or patch, and Valve decided to release CS:GO in a new and revised form as a brand new game, Counter Strike 2. Many players were worried about what would happen to their CS:GO skins after the switch to CS2. After all, their CS:GO skins often had tremendous value. However, no players had to worry about their Counter Strike items, all CS:GO skins were turned into CS2 skins with the release of the new version of the game. In addition, many of the skins received a new graphic design, which also improved their appearance, as well as had an impact on the price.
