I wanted to setup IaC for my home lab Proxmox server to create VM templates first using Packer, and then Terraform for deploying 3-node K8s clusters for demos and learning. I originally followed "Christian Lempa" video and boilerplates, but couldn't get them to work so went on a long winding journey trying different configs and reading up on cloud-config, autoinstall and read a bunch of other blogs.
