It's really annoying, more though if I send files to image libraries who then want a file with that exact name to be uploaded. For that I will need a larger file so on reopening the file weeks later the suffix is gone and I will have to edit filenames manually to change the name.
There seems to be too much handholding and safety precautionsto make sure that nothing will ever be lost. But especially with a raw file settings are preserved in XMP files so what is the point. There seems to be a lot of firefighting in these last versions of Photoshop.
I am using Photoshop (Beta) 25.1.0 on a 2023 Apple M2 MacBookPro running Sonoma and sometimes I was better off with my 2015 MBP runing Photoshop CC
