As pointed out in this reddit post, the Western Digital My Passport drives contain firmware that prevents you from ever erasing or rewriting the VCD partition that contains the WD Unlocker app. As pointed out here, you might be able to use the WD Smartware tool to hide the WD Unlocker from poping up in your OS when you plug in the drive, but you can not remove it.
