Ghostery examines all web domains that are being requested by the web page you are visiting and compares them with a library of trackers to determine if and by whom you are being followed. If Ghostery finds a match, it notifies you via the control panel or a pop-up bubble. If you've set to restrict communication with the tracking sites, the call will be cut off before it leaves your browser.
