The challenge now is if you use DU to delete both, your OS X storage will not increase, because of the Recovery HD in the middle. Can I suggest that you backup OS X via Time Machine, boot into Internet Recovery, erase your internal disk, and restore from Time Machine Backup? It is much cleaner.
