Energy management is today a critical component in many unmanned aerial vehicles and aerial robots. Thus, increasing flight endurance and range of operation is a must in many applications that cannot be solved with few tens of minutes flights and hundreds of meters range. These applications include obviously transportation and logistics, surveillance, environment monitoring, agriculture and forestry, large infrastructure inspection and many others. The problem can be solved from many different perspectives, including on-board generation of energy, on-board processing design and development of new aerial platforms and subsystems.
