In 1982 Microsoft released MS-DOS, with the first versions of windows (Windows 1.0-3.0) being graphical shells for MS-DOS each version adding new features such as icons and media playback. In 1995 Microsoft started releasing Operating systems in the "Windows 9x" family. The first version of Windows NT, Windows NT 3.1 was released in 1993 but only targeted businesses, Windows NT 3.5-4.0 likewise only targeted businesses.
