In reply to ghostrider:Agreed, it was mostly painless. For the average non-tech savvy person, it is truly not worth installing. Windows 8.1 is a good alternative to Windows 7, even though it has the Metro UI. It basically has an improved Windows 7 desktop, just without the classic start menu.
