When a rights holder takes an action on user content (such as applying a block, ownership link or Collect ad earnings action), the user is notified and can submit a dispute. If a user submits a dispute, the content is typically restored to its original state while the dispute is pending. This important component of the dispute system protects lawful speech and minimizes the risk of misuse and overblocking by allowing the user to reinstate content that may have been misidentified or actioned in error. More details on how these systems work is offered above.
