One of the most direct threats to your Kindle Fire devices comes through phishing. These are bogus e-mails that appear to be from Amazon or other reputable sites, reporting an order or a security problem that requires the customer's acknowledgement. Clicking on the link takes you to a malicious site where code is loaded onto your Kindle, either to infect it directly or as a payload to be passed along to your computers. Your tablet or computer anti-malware program might catch it, but prevention is the best approach. Train your staff not to click links in e-mails and to verify the message by contacting Amazon first.
