Same kind of problem with mushrooms. After removing them from my Sims inventory, I can only put them on the floor, then my Sim can just eat the mushroom, it's impossible to take the item. (In Contruction Mode I'm able to remove it from the scene, and to put it in the house inventory. That's all.)
