I next took this hard-coded mechanism and bound it to an application shortcut key. I use xfce as my desktop, but I assume all linux desktops provide a similar feature. I changed the way of finding the window from searching for a window name to using the current active window. I bound the command to the Windows-A key (referred to as Super-A), and it failed.
