Instituto Cervantes, as the organiser of the DELE examination, is also a member of Sistema Internacional de Certificacin del Espaol como Lengua Extrajera (SICELE), an association aiming at enhancing the cooperation and coordination in language assessment in Spanish, in order to promote the study of Spanish as a foreign language.[33]
