Citrix and VMware's acquisition by private equity is not a death sentence for them. They both still have millions of users and can potentially benefit from being stripped to their cores and reimagined for the modern world. (This is literal, as NetScaler, NSX, vSAN, vSphere, XenServer, etc. are now provided by separate entities from the Citrix/VMware-Omnissa cores.)
