I don't know about the group compression for your 2 mics. I believe it will change the dynamics a little. Say singer #1 is singing loud and singer #2 wants to sing a soft part. The compressor is heavily limiting the signal since #1 is loud, so #2 might not be heard as loud as he expects. Does that make sense?
