I suspect you are right, that the Formats feature does not exist on my phone. It is an iPhone 6 (not even 6s). And yes, it does appear to be saving in .jpg format. I was confused because our other newer phone creates .heic images. Apparently I was complaining about an issue with my phone that doesn't actually apply to it!! BUT .. .. you did (patiently) get me to understand where this Formats option *will* help - that is, on our newer phone. So thanks for that!!
