Fossil hunting: This one can also be seen as a single encounter hunt. You basically farm fossils (could be in addition to egg hatching or not) and you bring them to life. The chance of getting a shiny is the same rate as in single encounters. You can farm the fossils from Rock Smash by using Thief (or other methods) on encountered rock Pokmon.
