Tricks become less valuable as they are repeated. Fortunately, the skater can switch between two stances, regular and Switch. Switch gives more points and the diminishing scores for each of them does not affect the other. Awareness of this during a combo helps net a higher base score. When one already knows the 900 in regular stance gives few points, they go to Switch for a renewed base score.
