Within each subsequent episode of The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, the narrative moves toward the future. Episodes that feature heavy flashbacks are bookended by scenes that continue to move the overall story forward. Because of this, some episodes contain events that take place earlier in the timeline than the chronological order of the episode itself. Tales of the Walking Dead episodes and several webisodes were not released in chronological order.
