I have not written the error reporting routines myself, but I checked it up and supposedly it checks for Path.GetInvalidFileNameChars() (.net code) and filters out all those characters. I guess another way to get multiple contigous spaces would be a window title such as "Graphics / Filters" getting turned into "Graphics Filters" (two spaces after the slash was removed).
