The virtual machine is a 64-bit Ubuntu machine. If you do not have a 64-bit machine you will need to turn on virtualization by booting into the BIOS of your machine and turning it on. The booting into BIOS procedure varies by machine but usually involves starting up your machine and using a Function key (usually F2, F10 or F12) to get into the BIOS settings.
